Zoom have recently been updating their security protocols to protect all their users, some of the addition steps they have incorporated includes:
- Password – All our meetings will now have a password, which we will be embedded into the meeting links you will receive. It will also be provided within the email if you choose to join another way, and send invitations out to friends and family. Please do not post this on any online forum.
- Waiting room – All participants will be entered into a virtual waiting room, where we will admit you. Please ensure that your name (or identifiable name) is available as we will only be allowing named users into our meeting. Guests are still very welcome to join our meetings, and if either video or identifiable name is present you will be admitted.
- Encryption – Video, audio, and screen sharing are encrypted when using the Zoom client. This content is protected with the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) 256 using a one-time key for that specific session.
