Greetings from Uganda!
Good evening from Uganda!
We are very aware that we have not sent out an update for a few weeks… but we have been sick! All six of us have had various symptoms, but we praise the Lord that it wasn’t malaria😊 Heidi is pregnant (!) and particularly struggled during this period of illness. She is still a bit weak, but is significantly better now! Despite us all being unwell, ministry continues in our home and garden!
Next week we have our Holiday Bible Club, and we will be looking at some of the ‘surprises’ in the story of the birth of Jesus.
Please pray…
- that the children may understand why Jesus came to earth
- for profitable conversations during times of small group discussions
- for all the leaders as they seek to share the gospel with the children
- for safety, fun times, no rain, our cooks… and all the other practicalities involved in running a Holiday Bible Club.
On Monday to Wednesday the HBC will be for primary aged children. We are expecting around 300, if not more! On Thursday and Friday the HBC focus will move to the teenagers.
The HBC is free to attend, yet the cost needed per child will be about £5. This will cover breakfast and lunch (Mon-Weds) for each child and an evening meal (Thurs-Fri) for the teenagers. This cost will also include resources that we need to purchase to enable the HBC to run.
You can be involved in this HBC!! Please do pray! Could you sponsor one or more children to attend the HBC? Every £5 we receive means that another child is provided for during the days of the HBC! If you would like to contribute towards the HBC, please get in touch, and we can tell you how😊
A few more things to give thanks for….
Tony and Holly Gordon, along with their four children have joined as at Ssenge Baptist Church as missionaries from America! We are so excited that they have come to join us here in ministry! Tony is a medical doctor, and in time we hope to be able to set up a church medical facility, where people who come for health issues can also be pointed towards Christ. Praise the Lord that the Gordon family have found a suitable home in Ssenge, and pray for them as they settle into life and ministry in Uganda.
With much love Bosco & Heidi xxx
